A Pair of Detentions in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
