The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of characters who will split off from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
First, the team understands precisely where to go next after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then cleared his debts and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as important members in House Halovar could assist the group reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor swore a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in search of Casimir.
