It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

This is the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the record chasers, are what's still available for a side that has won it all.

That it took up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if never given the possibility.

Finally, the result of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy getting a platform to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her bow and seven global championships have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fail again.

If this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort is debatable.

Some will argue the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was considerably tougher to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this knock followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in the nets, it has been a disappointing period because it seemed I've had no rhythm completely," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive nature activate and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and after that the right-hander was in motion.

"The possibility to play and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

By the time she was removed Australia needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the belief to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if we do, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the last rival teams at this tournament should hear.

During the last week a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this triumph succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

Yet even as she later admitted those fitness problems have postponed consideration of ending her career, this tournament is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as captain.

Success in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
